Guide to Great Sand Dunes National Park - Denver Post ContentHi OLA Families!

You are invited to join us for A Day at the Dunes.

What:  Join OLA staff and students for "A Day at the Dunes" at Great Sand Dunes National Park.  We'll kick the morning off with a hands-on educational activity on the dunes, have some time to explore, hear from a park ranger about NPS careers, and enjoy a grilled lunch.

When:  Monday, September 14, 8:30am - 2:00pm

What to Bring:  Layers! The weather can be unpredictable.  A jacket, hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses are recommended.  Wear comfortable shoes for walking on the dunes (sandals are usually not recommended - depending on conditions the sand can get hot!). If Medano creek is flowing (and we hope it is but it probably won’t be), your shoes might get wet.  Bring a water bottle!

Transportation.  The school will provide transportation from the DELTA Center in Monte Vista to the park and back; parents can drive their students to the park (we have fee waivers for participants).

Lunch. A grilled out picnic lunch will be provided.

Registration Required.  Complete this form to register for A Day at the Dunes.
