We are thrilled to have all of you join us here at the Monte Vista Online Academy/MVOLA.
Your first week will consist of you getting aquainted with your teachers and classes.
You will also be completing the NWEA test for Reading, Math, and Science.
Completing these tests is very important for our school. We will begin testing on Wednesday, August 12th through Friday, the 14th.
You will receive an email from Mr. Huff with the informtion you need in order to take the NWEA Tests, so be checking your email Wednesday morning.
Here is the rundown-
When:
- Wednesday, August 12th, anytime between 10 a.m.-12p.m. (Reading)
- Thursday, August 13th, anytime between 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. (Math)
- Friday, August 14th, anytime between 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. (Science)
What to expect:
- Mr. Huff will email you a link to NWEA, session name, and passcode to each test before the test each day; you can access the test anytime until 12:00.
- Students usually spend about one hour on each test. It's okay to spend more or less time as needed. Rapid guessing closes the test and you will have to wait for it to be re-opened by Mr. Huff. My recommendation is to not do the rapid guessing.
- Tests are adaptive, which means question difficulty changes based on previous correct or incorrect answers.
- This is a required assessment for all MVOLA students.
- To access the tests you will click on the link that Mr. Huff provides for you.
- Please do not be alarmed if your student answers test questins incorrectly. It is expected that students are not able to answer some questions correctly, so please DO NOT help them with the test.
