Welcome to the Month of September & Week 2 of the Fall Semester!
Welcome to September! I hope everyone's Labor Day weekend felt long and refreshing. The leaves in some of the San Luis Valley's hardwoods and aspen groves are beginning to transform from green to gold, and the morning temperatures are a reminder that the official start to autumn is just a couple weeks away.
Great news! As of Friday of last week, all OLA academic programs are online and operational (including Aleks Math, Typing Agent, and Mango Foreign Languages). A huge thank you to everyone for their patience and understanding as us staff worked through several technical bugs. A reminder that I've directed all staff to not expect any student work from courses and time periods in which online programs were not operational (however, all students will still receive all important curriculum objectives during the semester).
This week, because we missed school yesterday, the Monte Vista School Board has scheduled this Friday as a student contact work-day. Although the vast majority of Fridays during the school year staff are not available, this Friday is an exception.
