Hi OLA Families!Guide to Great Sand Dunes National Park - Denver Post Content

You are invited to join us for A Day at the Dunes.

What:  Join OLA staff and students for "A Day at the Dunes" at Great Sand Dunes National Park.  We'll kick the morning off with a hands-on educational activity on the dunes, have some time to explore, hear from a park ranger about NPS careers, and enjoy a grilled lunch.

When:  Monday, May 18, 8:30am - 2:00pm

What to Bring:  Layers! The weather can be unpredictable.  A jacket, hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses are recommended.  Wear comfortable shoes for walking on the dunes (sandals are usually not recommended - depending on conditions the sand can get hot!). If Medano creek is flowing (and we hope it is), your shoes might get wet.  Bring a water bottle!

Transportation.  The school will provide transportation from the DELTA Center in Monte Vista to the park and back; for families that live out of the valley or on the east side of the valley, parents can drive their students to the park (we are working on getting fee waivers for participants).

Lunch. A grilled out picnic lunch will be provided.

Registration Required.  Complete this form to register for A Day at the Dunes.
