Middle School & High School Summer Session Information & Registration

For OLA students who are currently in grades 7th through 12th grade, OLA is offering a summer session of classes! The purpose of a summer term is to allow students, who feel they would benefit from a summer class or two, to register to take one or two core classes. Electives won't be offered this summer, but they will continue to be offered the fall and spring semesters.

For 7th through 12th grade, students may log physical activity hours (to be awarded P.E. class credit in the fall).

For 9th through 12 grade, students may log physical activity hours (to be awarded P.E. class credit in the fall). and/or they may log independent study hours (to be awarded Ind. Study class credit in the fall). For questions related to logging PE class hours or Independent Study hours, please contact Counselor Dave through email or a phone call.

7th and 8th graders, summer classes are not for credit, but they are meant to help make sure that any core classes that were failed can be made up or completed. This will ensure that students will be well prepared for success in high school.

9th through 12th grade students, summer classes are meant to make up credits that weren't acquired during the regular academic year or to get ahead .5 or 1.0 credit toward graduation.

Please note that because the summer session is only 4 weeks long, a MAXIMUM of two classes are allowed. This summer, classes will be held from Tuesday, May 28th through Thursday, June 20th. Just like the regular school year, teachers will only be available Monday through Thursday (8 AM through 4 PM).

Thank you, and if you're registering for summer school classes, the instructors of the classes (Mr. Haddican for humanities and Ms. Moore for STEM) will be contacting students the last week of the spring semester.

Thanks Jessica for letting me know that initially whatever grade was chosen in section 1, it was taking everyone to the 7th grade section.
This should be fixed now so that what grade one chooses at the beginning takes students to the correct section for choosing a class or two! - Mr. Wright
