WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL!
I hope everyone had an outstanding summer. Welcome back to school. On behalf of the staff of OLA, we're all excited to get this school year started!
Speaking of getting things started, this week is Orientation Week. This week, OLA teachers will be reaching out to new students to help orient them to classes, and no school work will be due until next week. For returning students who can successfully log into their classes, this is a great week to get ahead. For new students, this week is designed to give everyone a low pressure start to getting started.
For elementary students, Monday and Tuesday, Mrs. Noonan will be reaching out to contact all students (starting with students new to OLA).
For students in grades 7-12, Monday morning, new students whose last names begin with an A through a J will be contacted.
For students in grades 7-12, Monday afternoon, new students whose last names begin with a K through a S will be contacted.
For students in grades 7-12,Tuesday morning, new students whose last names begin with a T through a W will be contacted.
Throughout the week, counselor Dave & special education teacher Mrs. Simon will be reaching out to contact students, throughout the grades, on an individual basis.
Please be patient while OLA staff works through login snags, class scheduling tweaks, etc. If you need help and call us, if the lines are busy or go to voicemail, we do not intend to frustrate anyone, we're just working through issues as fast as we can. Please call back every half hour, or leave a voicemail with information so we can return your call as soon as possible. If you can be patient, we'll be busiest early in the week and get less busy as the week progresses.
Thank you for your understanding while we get everyone logged into classes, successfully working in the program.
Attached to this announcement is a file that is the 2018-2019 OLA Parent - Student Handbook. If you haven't already received a hard copy of this resource, feel free to download it below.
Again, welcome back to school, and here's to a spectacular year!
Mr. Wright
