Here, in the old Supreme Court Chambers found inside the Capitol (from left): Castorina G., Jason S., Brayden S., Tammy S., Mr. Huff, Castorina G., Torri U., Amber T., Rose M., Charissa G., Isabella S., and Mr. Dawson.
Our bus left Monte Vista at 5am and we arrived in Denver around 10am.
Morning activities were held at the History Colorado Center. There we got to check out exhibits and meet more students and parents from the Denver area.
Around 11:30am we walked a few blocks to the Capitol where a rally would occur to let the state lawmakers know we value the choice they have provided us to pursue education online.
Our students represented OLA incredibly well!!
After the rally we had the chance to take an hour-and-a-half tour of the Capitol building itself.
A big highlight of the day was being able to go up into the Capitol's "dome". It had been under construction for the last few years and has been beautifully refurbished.
The weather was fantastic for standing on the balcony surrounding the dome -- we could see the whole city and even as far south as Pike's Peak!
Thanks to the students and parents who participated in this fun outing!
