Monte Vista On-Line Academy/ Byron Syring Delta Center/ Adult Ed Program
***All attendees must remain in the vehicle at all times. No one may exit the vehicle for any reason while on school grounds except the graduate to receive their gown, take formal graduation picture with the school provided photographer, to retrieve their diploma, and to drop off their gown as they exit after the ceremony. No public restrooms will be available.***
Saturday, May 30, 20207:30-9:00 - Graduate Cap and Gown Pictures - HS parking lot
7:30-8:00 - Last name starts with A through H
8:00-8:30 - Last name starts with I through N
8:30-9:00 - Last name starts with O through V
After pictures, families and students will leave the HS parking lot. Plan on returning to the DELTA parking lot at 9:30 to park in a reserved parking spot.
9:30-10:00 - Parking lot attendees will direct graduates to reserved
parking spots. (One-vehicle per graduate in front row parking, additional parking will be available on a limited basis. Please check with our Director, Rebekah Johnson to arrange additional parking.)
10:00 - Graduation Ceremony will begin.
All graduates will be mailed an electronic version of our graduation program at 9:30. The program has links that can be followed to watch the pre-recorded student speeches. All graduates and families must stay in their enclosed vehicles for the duration of the ceremony. Graduates are only allowed outside their vehicles when walking across the stage.
Directions for graduates -
Diploma Pick Up - A maximum of three graduates can be out of their vehicles at one time. While out of the vehicle, please wear provided Graduate Face Mask and gloves. Graduates will be parked in alphabetical order. Graduate #1, #2, #3 will move toward the stage, remember to maintain social distancing protocol of six feet. As the graduate's name is announced, they will walk across the stage, retrieve diploma and appreciation flowers from designated areas, and return to their vehicle. When graduate #1 is back in their vehicle, graduate #4 may exit their vehicle and move toward stage. This process will continue until all graduates return to their vehicles.
Turning of the Tassel - When the last graduate has entered their vehicle, our designated leader for Turning of Tassels will exit her vehicle to lead graduates in turning of their tassels. During this time, graduates will remain in their vehicles.
Gown Drop Off - Please wait in your vehicle after the ceremony until you are dismissed by our parking attendants. Follow the directives around the building and to the graduation formal picture pick up and gown drop off location. Graduates will need to wait in the car until they are requested at the gown drop off location. At that time, they may exit the vehicle to take off their gowns. Leave your gowns in the designated bins and pick up your graduation packet. Please exit the parking lot at this time.
