As part of OLA's "Learning Live" series of monthly opportunities offered at school, Mr. Huff will be sharing a slideshow of pictures from his experience volunteering with the U.S. Peace Corps in South Africa from 1999 to 2001.

Students and families are invited to attend in person at the On-Line Academy in Monte Vista, at 2pm on Thursday, February 5th.  Following Mr. Huff's presentation, students will also hear from MVSD employee Donald Martinez, whose daughter Katie is currently serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in the African country of Malawi and will then have the opportunity to write letters or submit questions to Katie about her experience.

This Learning Live opportunity would be interesting and fun for anyone interested in learning about other cultures, seeing pictures of African village life (and African wildlife), and hearing about how you could become a Peace Corps volunteer yourself in a few years!

Contact Mr Huff if you are interested in attending (ethanh@monte.k12.co.us) so we know how many chairs to set up.  Thanks!
